About
Simone Vignola was born in Avellino (Italy) in September 1987. At the age of 7 he had his first approach with music when he started studying electric and fingerstyle guitar till the age of 12. That’s when he moved on to study bass guitar (with Enzo di Somma and later with Antonio de Luise) and later double-bass (with Pierluigi Bartolo Gallo later at the music conservatory of Avellino).
During his teens Simone does a lot of experience, live sets, festivals and contests. He plays with Inseedia (2003/2007), italian dark-funk band that after an EP and some important apparitions in important Italian Festivals (M.E.I., Rock Targato Italia, Emergenza, Cornetto Free-Audiotion, Rockin, ecc…) publishes an LP (Secrets from the room – Nomadism Records/Masterpiece), bring out with the videoclip of the song “All that you do” (written by Simone).
Throught these years of musical growth, always contunue studying bass and double bass, Simone matures a personal style, based on funk stuffs but with many influences from dance and elettronic music. So in 2008 he starts writing his soloist songs defined by strong melodic patterns and virtuous bass lines. His live-sets are in one-man-band.
In November 2008 Simone won the sixth edition of the “EuroBassDay Contest”, rewarded by some of the best international bassists such as Matthew Garrison, Jimmy Haslip, Tollak, Dario Deidda, Roberto Cifarelli, Dan Solo. During the contest Simone performed with such artists like Giovanni Giorgi on drums and Alfonso Deidda on piano as well as opening for the “Matthew Garrison Quartet” with Scott Henderson, Kirk Covington and Scott Kinsey.

In spring 2009 Simone sign with Schoots Records. His first soloist work is out on 3th November of the same year, a single called “Love Song“, totally written, played and singed by Simone. This CD/single contains Love Song original version, a dance Mix and a bonus track. “Love Song” is accompanied by a very particular videoclip.
On 1st November Simone is as guest on EuroBassDay main stage in Verona opening for the Scott Kinsey Group (guest Paco Sery).
On 15th November Simone will play at European BassDay in Viersen (Germania). At this important Festival he will present his CD, “Love Song”, with its cover on poster and tickets. He will warm up for Richard Bona.
From 2009 is endorser of “Windmill Guitars & Basses“. The “Simone Vignola Signature” model is at present in prodution.
